Ever leave a meeting thinking “What did we decide again?” This tutorial shows how to hit Record in the ChatGPT desktop app, let it run quietly in the background, and then generate a clear recap.

Download desktop app

Download the ChatGPT desktop app and sign in. Make sure you’re on one of the Pro plans for full feature availability.

Confirm meeting setup

Launch the meeting, lecture, or session on your computer. Quick check before you start:

  • You can clearly hear the audio
  • You have permission to record other people

Start recording

Tap the Record button inside the ChatGPT desktop app. A recording panel will appear and run quietly in the background while you continue your session.

Capture important parts

Let the session run normally while the recorder works.

Do what is necessary:

  • Avoid switching audio devices unless you must

Stop and submit recording

When you are finished, press Stop. Send the recording to ChatGPT so it can process it.
